Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining hardware setups and lab equipment for hands-on training in electric mobility and related technologies. As a Mechanical Engineer at DIYguru, you will play a vital role in enhancing the practical learning environment, ensuring that our students gain valuable experience working with real-world mechanical systems and components. Key Responsibilities

• Design and Build Hardware Setups: Develop and construct mechanical setups and lab equipment for hands-on training in electric vehicle (EV) systems, renewable energy, and smart manufacturing. Ensure all setups are functional, safe, and aligned with educational objectives.
• Maintain and Upgrade Lab Equipment: Regularly inspect, maintain, and upgrade lab equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition. Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth training experience.
• Collaborate with Instructors and Curriculum Developers: Work closely with instructors and curriculum developers to understand training needs and create mechanical setups that support learning objectives. Provide technical support during lab sessions and workshops.
• Develop Hands-On Training Modules: Assist in the development of hands-on training modules and exercises that involve the use of mechanical setups and lab equipment. Ensure that modules are safe, engaging, and provide practical learning experiences.
• Ensure Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols for all mechanical setups and lab activities. Educate students on safety procedures and the proper use of tools and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Support Curriculum Enhancement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of DIYguru’s educational offerings by providing feedback on mechanical training modules and suggesting new ideas for practical exercises and setups.
• Source and Manage Equipment: Source, procure, and manage inventory of mechanical tools, components, and equipment required for lab setups and training exercises. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Engage with Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in mechanical engineering, electric mobility, and related fields. Apply new knowledge and best practices to improve lab setups and training programs.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with electrical engineers, software developers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components for comprehensive training experiences.
• Document Processes and Procedures: Create and maintain detailed documentation of lab setups, equipment maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. Ensure all documentation is accessible and up-to-date.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the automotive, electric vehicle, or renewable energy sectors.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining mechanical setups and lab equipment for educational or training purposes.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment used in electric vehicles and renewable energy applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with instructors, students, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in developing hands-on training modules and exercises, with a focus on practical, real-world applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced educational environment.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
