Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Animation/VFX Editor to join our course development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality animations and visual effects that enhance our educational content and provide an engaging learning experience for students. As an Animation/VFX Editor at DIYguru, you will play a crucial role in developing visually compelling course materials that help students understand complex concepts in a clear and dynamic way. This role is perfect for someone with strong animation and VFX skills, a passion for education, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Create High-Quality Animations and VFX: Develop and edit animations and visual effects for DIYguru’s courses, including explainer videos, simulations, and interactive content. Ensure that all animations are engaging, informative, and aligned with educational objectives.
- Collaborate with Content Developers: Work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and content developers to understand course objectives and create animations that effectively convey complex concepts and enhance learning.
- Integrate Visual Content into Courses: Ensure all animations and VFX are seamlessly integrated into course materials, including videos, presentations, and interactive modules. Work with the video production team to synchronize animations with voiceovers and other multimedia elements.
- Optimize Animations for Different Platforms: Adapt and optimize animations and VFX for various platforms and devices, ensuring high-quality playback and performance across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Develop Visual Storyboards: Create detailed storyboards and visual scripts to plan and communicate animation sequences and visual effects. Collaborate with the content team to refine visual storytelling techniques and enhance educational impact.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends and Tools: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in animation and VFX. Apply new techniques and technologies to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of course content.
- Ensure Consistency and Brand Alignment: Maintain consistency in visual style and quality across all animations and VFX. Ensure that all visual content aligns with DIYguru’s brand guidelines and enhances the overall learning experience.
- Manage Animation Projects and Timelines: Organize and manage multiple animation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Conduct Quality Assurance and Revisions: Review and revise animations and VFX based on feedback from stakeholders, instructors, and students. Ensure all visual content meets high standards of quality and accuracy before release.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Digital Media, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in animation and VFX editing, preferably within the education or e-learning sectors.
- Strong proficiency in animation and VFX software such as Adobe After Effects, Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, or similar tools.
- Experience in creating educational animations and visual effects that effectively communicate complex concepts and enhance learning.
- Excellent storytelling skills and a strong understanding of visual communication techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback into visual content.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality animations and VFX.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for education, technology, and creating engaging digital content.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
